God Is God!

Isaiah 40:31
but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.

Date: 31-12-2017 Time: 11:59pm … And five, four, three, two, one. Happy New year! Welcome 2018!!!
We joyfully danced to “He’s got the whole world, in His hand He’s got the whole world in His hand,” celebrating this far God has brought us for His glory, bidding farewell to 2017.

Reminiscing on where we were a time like this, ten years ago as 2007 was bade farewell, we learned from each other just how badly broken and miserable we both were, thousands of miles apart, yet totally broken in very similar ways.

I was completely broken then, only my faith and hope kept me going. I had no money and was barely able to put a meal on the table for the children.
And to make matters worse, my country was slowly plunging into bloody chaos as a murderous frenzy overcame and possessed neighbours to kill each other on tribal lines, in the infamous post election violence. Most people were loosing hope.

And now, here we were ten years later, giving thanks for the new year as we rejoiced and celebrated God’s goodness! How perfect Is God? Two broken people worlds apart, both of us would have bet our life without a doubt if someone had told us that ten years later, we would each be happily married in future. We would never have imagined it in our separate wilderness.

Looking back now at how God in every detail planned and executed His plan in getting us together, we have no doubt whatsoever that, we want to faithfully serve our Lord for the rest of our lives as long as He pleases to keep us on this earth.

I can confidently tell you this, regardless of how messed up your life is right now, however troubled you are right now, whatever the challenge you are going through right now, God Is just within, waiting for you to surrender in totality to Him. If you have, He Is knitting His plan for you, His perfect and pleasing plan for you. Your part, trust and obey Him as He guides you towards your grand reveal!

Genesis 18:14
Is anything too hard for the LORD? I will return to you at the appointed time next year, and Sarah will have a son.”

Forgiveness

  1. Matthew 18:20-21
Then Peter came to Jesus and asked, “Lord, how many times shall I forgive my brother or sister who sins against me? Up to seven times?” Jesus answered, “I tell you, not seven times, but seventy-seven times.

The new year is here with us and I believe most of us are making resolutions and definitely praying for a prosperous year. The Word I was given by the Lord is, ‘the year of new beginnings.

This morning I have been instructed to write on forgiveness. The scripture above gives us the one and only remedy for those who sin against us. FORGIVE Them.
Forgiveness is unconditional and therefore do NOT hold people in unforgiveness!
If you desire to see God’s fullness in your life, and thereafter His Kingdom, forgive all those who sin against you wholesale.

I see many promises on every kind of prosperity on social media and even in Church. They tell you all you need to do is say Amen or type in Amen in agreement.
Well, I hate to burst your bubble but, you are going nowhere without letting go of people, unconditionally!

Galatians 6:7 (NLT)
Don’t be misled–you cannot mock the justice of God. You will always harvest what you plant.

May the Lord enable us to forgive those who trespass against us, as He also forgives us in Jesus’ Mighty Name! Amen

Release all the burdens of 2017 or longer unto Him and watch Him guide you through life as you rest in Him to His glory!

John 17:20-26

20“I do not ask on behalf of these alone, but for those also who believe in Me through their word; 21that they may all be one; even as You, Father, are in Me and I in You, that they also may be in Us, so that the world may believe that You sent Me. 22“The glory which You have given Me I have given to them, that they may be one, just as We are one; 23I in them and You in Me, that they may be perfected in unity, so that the world may know that You sent Me, and loved them, even as You have loved Me. 24“Father, I desire that they also, whom You have given Me, be with Me where I am, so that they may see My glory which You have given Me, for You loved Me before the foundation of the world.

25“O righteous Father, although the world has not known You, yet I have known You; and these have known that You sent Me; 26and I have made Your name known to them, and will make it known, so that the love with which You loved Me may be in them, and I in them.”

It is clear that God desires relationship with us. He promised to continue to make Himself known to us and hence we are invited to continue to seek Him to more deeply understand His goodness!

May He enable you!

It Is about Christ

Christmas is still days away yet for the last two or more weeks, I have been mesmerised by the decorations on the streets, shops and residential houses.

Shops are almost crowded with People shopping. Advertisements on media for gifts you should buy, food you should buy, getaways you should go to and so much more advise is overwhelming! If you ask me, Christmas time is leading in people spending money.

A time like this years ago, Joseph and Mary were turned away from a rest house which was full. I wonder if Joseph tried to convince them to let them have a room because his wife was about to have a baby? I wonder if he had told them that she was due to deliver the son of God, I can imagine what a spectacle they would have made of him. I wonder if he doubted at this moment that Mary was about to become the Mother of Christ.

And how about Mary? Did she at this moment, in pain and desperate for a place to rest doubt her vision? Could she have doubted that indeed, her baby was THE SON of GOD?
When I walk in this biting cold and see the display of spectacular decorations, and the rushing about of people doing their last minute purchases, and remember the millions in dire need in this world right from my Country, I wonder if we truly understand what Joseph and Mary went through hours before that joyful day.

And if we celebrate Christmas with such enthusiasm, shouldn’t we embrace God’s love for humankind with humility? Not just around Christmas season, but in our everyday life. Just a thought!

‭~ John 3:16 ~
‭For God so loved the world that He gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him may not perish but may have eternal life.

May He enable us!

Trust

~ Isaiah 55:9 ~ “As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.

This morning the above scripture reminded me of the frailty of our anxieties.  I made reservations for travel for our two daughters and myself to travel upcountry in advance, because i like particular sitting areas on the bus.

Come last evening, one of my daughters became unwell. I then considered taking our son with us but my daughter told me he was not really up to it, so i would be ruining his holiday.

This morning we get to the bus just under five minutes to departure. As i rush to the door after overseeing the loading of our baggage, a gentleman comes beside me and interrupts the security guard with an urgent question. “Is this bus full?” The guard answers in the affirmative and i tell him i have an extra ticket if he is interested. Turns out he even likes the seat i have to offer and pays me for it.

The amazing thing is that, as the bus takes off, i realize that we have at least three vacant seats! How faithful is God? I did not stress about loosing my 1500shs, which of course is non refundable at such short notice. But the Lord had noted down and refunded me. He also cared about this man’s sitting preference and so blinded the bus conductor to the fact that they had vacant seats they could sell to him directly. I truly love how God works perfectly when we allow Him by trusting and obeying Him.

My prayer is for you to trust and obey Him the remainder of this year and be amazed at how accurately He will direct your paths, in Jesus’ name i pray. Amen!

Sensitivity

This morning i was on a matatu to town. The driver decided to avoid the jam by taking the Southern bypass. As expected, he was not the only one that made that decision.
So by the time we got onto that highway, there were many other matatus, aside from the regular traffic rattling down that road in high speed with their trademark booming music.

The road borders the Nairobi National park and so soon, we passed six Giraffes grazing. They were not in the least perturbed by the loud matatu exhaust noises, nor the deafening music. I noted with interest their concentration on the activity they were undertaking.

We soon passed a herd of gazelles and the same scenario was replicated.
I remembered the wild animals documentaries i have watched. I knew that if a predator was to approach this herd, they would notice it from a long distance away.
Does it mean that animals are by nature very smart? Why do they concentrate on what matters and remain sensitive to their environment and eminent danger?

Why do majority of human beings spend so much time and energy on things that do not matter, and live almost completely oblivious of what ideally should be of greatest importance to them?
We are never sensitive to our Spirit Man, yet we are created to live by His instructions and guidance every single day for us to be able to live a fulfilled life.

My prayer is for God to quicken me in everything, to help me ignore anything that is not necessary and help me in battles that are necessary and to increase my sensitivity to the Holy Spirit Man in me, in the Mighty name of Jesus.

Service

‘Will you have the leberpastate? ” No thanks mum. “Of course you will eat it. It’s healthy for you!” She concludes, serving me with a slice.

What is the use of saying no. Like any caring mum or grandma, she will feed you and care for you the best way she knows how.

i came fully prepared to care for mum.  To Serve her to the best of my knowledge thanks to my long experience.

But alas! I was pleasantly surprised at the loving care and concern am receiving from her. This is extremely humbling to me considering that mum is ninety years young!

So it is true, what you give out, so shall you receive. Love and you shall be loved back. Serve and you shall be served.

Matthew 7:12

So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets

Mutter! Time to stroke your limbs!

All glory be to God!
