It Is about Christ

Christmas is still days away yet for the last two or more weeks, I have been mesmerised by the decorations on the streets, shops and residential houses.

Shops are almost crowded with People shopping. Advertisements on media for gifts you should buy, food you should buy, getaways you should go to and so much more advise is overwhelming! If you ask me, Christmas time is leading in people spending money.

A time like this years ago, Joseph and Mary were turned away from a rest house which was full. I wonder if Joseph tried to convince them to let them have a room because his wife was about to have a baby? I wonder if he had told them that she was due to deliver the son of God, I can imagine what a spectacle they would have made of him. I wonder if he doubted at this moment that Mary was about to become the Mother of Christ.

And how about Mary? Did she at this moment, in pain and desperate for a place to rest doubt her vision? Could she have doubted that indeed, her baby was THE SON of GOD?
When I walk in this biting cold and see the display of spectacular decorations, and the rushing about of people doing their last minute purchases, and remember the millions in dire need in this world right from my Country, I wonder if we truly understand what Joseph and Mary went through hours before that joyful day.

And if we celebrate Christmas with such enthusiasm, shouldn’t we embrace God’s love for humankind with humility? Not just around Christmas season, but in our everyday life. Just a thought!

‭~ John 3:16 ~
‭For God so loved the world that He gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him may not perish but may have eternal life.

May He enable us!

New Things

See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland. Isaiah 43:19

I had tiles laid on our kitchen wal as a simple artwork but we were one piece less. Finally when i brought a box of the same, the mason fitted them in my absence. It took me two days to notice that the space was complete. This is a wall where our stove is. Within these two days i prepared meals on the stove looking at the wall in front of me but never noticing the difference.

On the second day as i sat in the living room, it suddenly occurred to me that something was different! The tiling was complete. This got me thinking, how many things escape my notice just because am so used to them that each time i see them i see no change, if there is. If you are anything like me, you are so set in your usual ways that you hardly notice the new things the Lord Is doing in your life, hence you miss out on some blessings time and again. The scripture above awakens us to notice, to discern, to be sensitive to what God Is doing in our lives within ourselves and  our surroundings. Sensitize your spiritual self to notice every new thing the Lord Is doing in your life. It is the small things that add up together and make the huge difference. You may keep praying for something the Lord has already given you just because you are blinded to it. Or because it did not arrive in the package you expected or hoped for. May the Lord open your Spiritual mind, eyes and ears so you can perceive every new thing He Is doing for you!

An insightful and peaceful week ahead.

Pay Attention!

Pay attention to the Holy Spirit this year so you can see God’s glory at work in your life.

Most of us wait for spectacular things to happen in our life for us to be thankful to God. To God, nothing is small or big, and that is why i personally believe that when God is ordering our steps towards our destiny, His will for us, most times it sounds ridiculous. We have gone to school and believe in thinking.

Our intellect seems reasonable and reliable because it states facts and common sense. No wonder most people live through life struggling because of disobeying God and not living in His perfect will for them.

Isaiah 48:6

You have heard these things; look at them all. Will you not admit them? “From now on I will tell you of new things, of hidden things unknown to you.

I urge you to be ‘foolish’ this year by obeying God’s guidance in your life so you can experience a peaceful and content life in His rest. Quit fasting and praying unceasingly for God to change His mind from what His purpose for you is and put your desired purpose for your life in motion. Just ask God in all humility to reveal His purpose for you.

Whatever you do, do not question Him, simply take the step He will order you to and you will be amazed at how His pleasing and perfect will for you will start unfolding. These two scriptures say so much. Please meditate upon them. Time is a talent given to us by God, and it is wasted and lost when not used according to His plan. If we have lost our time until now by insisting on doing what is not in His will for us, we must double our diligence from now henceforth. Thousands on their deathbed would gladly redeem time at the price of the whole world if only they could get a second chance. You are here now, make a decision to trust and obey Him so you can redeem your time by living a purposeful and fulfilled life to the glory of His mighty Name!

Ephesians 5:15-17 (NLT)

So be careful how you live. Don’t live like fools, but like those who are wise. Make use of every opportunity in these evil days. Don’t act thoughtlessly, but understand what the Lord wants you to do.

His work is precise

My ardent readers must have noticed that i havent blogged for a while now. The reason is that i was unable to access the new page on my ipad until now. My patient husband reassured me when i started getting agitated that, i would, when He wants me to. Meanwhile this has given me time to advance in writing Adornment; two, which He emphasized that must be written in detail.

I was drifting back to my former impatient self due to a few events which i thought were detrimental to my vision, but ofcourse which my beloved hubby could not understand my concern with it. He assured me that i would get the page when God wants me to write. So i believe what am writing today is of importance to Him, because He has enabled me.

This is in such contrast with what we read in Isaiah 40:31 where the Word says ‘But those who wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength. They shall run and not be weary. They shall walk and not faint’  This really had me thinking about my life and my often unrealistic expectations. Do we really know what it means to wait upon the Lord?  I know that if we only focus on waiting for an event, a person or a thing, our strength will be depleted day by day. The Lord specifically instructs us to wait upon Him and His timing. But if we are setting our focus and our longing on that job offer, proposal, breakthrough, healing or anything similar, we are setting ourselves up for disappointment. To wait upon the Lord means to place our trust in Him and not on the outcome of our situation. It means to continue trusting Him, even if the outcome is not as we had hoped for, because the Lord promises us that He ‘will work all things for good to those who love Him’ (Romans 8:28). Our biggest hindrance in waiting on the Lord is fear – fear of losing control, fear of failure, fear of lack, fear of rejection, or fear of just letting go and trusting the Lord, no matter what. When we experience a traumatic event, we often feel very unsafe and vulnerable. Suddenly all that was familiar is hanging in the balance ; or that is how we perceive it. But actually the Lord is with us every moment. His heart is not to hurt us, but to save us ; often from our own wrong decisions, habits and thought patterns. He longs for us to walk in the fullness of what He has in store for us. But first we need to take that big step, let go and let God. This decision restores the godly order in our lives and allows the Lord freedom to take over and perfect His plans for us.  Just recently God jolted me in one of this situation that i had hijacked a project God initiated in my life, of which He has told me a number of times that its not about me, but His Might.

I wanted to sell the Adornment; one so desperately in a particular church. But, for  three consecutive monthly meetings, they would not announce it in the women’s meeting. As usual my husband could not even understand why i kept requesting them to. He is the still kind and was sure God would do it His way. When i was just about to get frustrated, the Lord asked me, who told you that the book can only be sold in that church? When i say Nations, do you only see Nairobi Kenya? I was so embarassaed. Thanks for insisting on doing His job!

I immediately  released the book to Him. Barely a week later, am seeing Him sell in Nations. He is a Mighty God!… . His timing is always perfect and He is not a God of quick fixes.

In Luke 12:31 we read: ‘Only aim at and strive for and seek His kingdom, and all these things shall be supplied to you also’

Father God, please enable me to always wait wait upon you. No matter my curcirmstances Your plans for my life are perfect. I glorify your Mighty name!
